Philosophy & Principles of practice

The Medicea philosophy is simple. We believe that the health of your body, the health
of your mind are interrelated. Radiance comes from living in accordance to principles
which support your life force: in foods, in supplements and in choices of the activities
you do and the products you ingest or apply to your skin.

At Medicea we like to use a combination of techniques and
tools to assist and support the optimal health of the individual. This flexibility allows
me to choose the products that are most suited to the condition at hand, rather than
be restricted to a single modality.

We believe that complementary medicine is an adjunct to medical care. Sometimes what
appears on the surface has deeper causes. Our foundation is to use the best of
modern science as well as Eastern perspectives to support your
experience of the
highest level of health and wellness

"The study of Natural & Complementary Medicine in Australia has been challenging. First there are the many biases, the judgements and finally a value assessment between the pharmaceutical industry and what natural supplements are perceived to be able to do.

At one end of the spectrum exists the purists, passionately defending their absolute convictions in non-medical practices - and the other are the medical sceptics, with their harsh criticisms and conservative dogma.

The bridge between ‘drugs’ and ‘natural medicines’ remains difficult, as if they are directly opposing each other. Somewhere the system fails to acknowledge that the aim of both medicines is the health benefit of the patient. Sometimes a drug is necessary. Other times, nutrition or natural plant substances prove to be wonderfully effective or co-effective, with less side effects than the chemical equivalents.

In amongst the fads and ‘quick buck’ natural medicinal schemes, I continually search for efficacious answers that are solid and founded where possible on biochemical science, or have a history of results. There are many quantifiable studies on the power of nutritional medicines - when you search for them. It is inevitable though, that funding remains limited due to the overwhelming power and predominance of the pharmaceutical industry.

Natural remedies mimic the essential truth that we are not synthetic. It could be that the resurgence in Natural Medicine reflects a need to reconnect to substances that truly support our cells & tissues, when our lifestyles constantly demand so much of them.

Complementary Medicines have shown me to be able to provide powerful tools to help reconnect the body to some innate sense of wellness, in a world that can lose touch with the value and potency of nature's forces."
